Welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Wendy Nelson and I am a graduate student in Old Dominion University's School Library Media Specialist program. I have a passion for books, of course, but I also appreciate how technology can be integrated into the classroom and library educational experience. As part of my TLED 530 instructional technology course, I have created this portfolio to showcase some of the ways in which the power of technology can be harnessed to enhance learning and communication. Throughout this semester I have had the opportunity to explore the possibilities of technology tools such as Weebly, Edmodo, Windows Live MovieMaker, Jing, Microsoft Publisher, Scratch, Audacity, Google Hangouts, Wikis, Animoto, and many more. I have used these tools to demonstrate my knowledge and competencies in the areas of the ISTE Standards, digital citizenship, technology integration in the classroom, assistive technology, and trends such as BYOD and one-to-one computing. It has been truly fun and fascinating. The projects that I am most proud of are my BYOD brochure, my Digital Citizenship video, and my poetry podcast lesson plan with the screencast tutorial. These projects required a lot of time and full immersion in the process of their creation, and I think they came out very well. I was able to incorporate many of the writing, editing, and design skills that I acquired in my former career in publishing to create a final product that was pleasing to the eye as well to the mind. |
